We know that you're probably wondering what does "Short and Long" mean here? How is that different from 4 stages or 6 stages?

 

Essentially the "Short" option replaces the old 4 stage option, while the "Long" option replaces the 6 stage option. The essence of this revised format is to focus on making races as awesome as possible and unlock the full potential of our amazing forest.

 

You asked for less pedally stages - well by not being limited to only 4 or 6 stage races we ultimately open up more of our epic trails to deliver this. 

“Short” format may have 4 shorter stages (3-4 mins down for example) and 1 longer stage. The “Long” format could potentially have 6 short and 1 or 2 longer stages.

Riders have the choice of entering one of five event categories at each of the three races over the season. These are:

Limited Entries:
Entries to each race are limited. We have a total of 150 full series early birds entries available, 200 early bird per race only available.  Online entries will automatically close if the maximum entry numbers are reached before the above indicated dates.

Conditions of Entry / Refunds & Transfers:

  1. Parental or guardian consent is required for all persons under the age of 16 yrs. 

  2. Age calculated as of the 31st of December 2021

  3. All riders 10-13 year of age MUST be accompanied by a full paid adult rider (20 years or older). Any rider found not to be racing with that adult at all times will be removed from the race

  4. The junior package must have two riders to complete the entry. The entry is for a junior rider 10-12 year of age based on the 31st of December 2021. The second Rider must be over the age of 20.

  5. Refunds will incur a $NZD withdrawal fee as detailed below –
    – Up to 2 weeks from the event date = $30
    – No refunds within 2 weeks of the event.

  6. Entries are only transferable to the next race in the season prior to 1 week from event date. Transfers to a later event are subject to availability and will incur a $30 NZD (incl. GST) administration fee. Please contact us by email if you wish to transfer your entry.

  7. Entries may only be transferred to another rider up to 1 week prior to the event in question. Transfers will incur a $30 NZD (incl. GST) administration fee passed onto the new rider. Transfers will be processed by using this form here.  Riders are prohibited from riding under another persons name.

  8. Riders may only change their event category if capacity allows. Changes of event category will incur a $30 NZD administration fee regardless.  

  9. Entries are not transferable from the last race from one season to the first race of the next season.

  10. In the case of the event being cancelled for safety reasons or a natural disaster, entry fees will not be refunded or transferred.

  12. Supplementary COVID-19 terms and conditions: 

  1. In the advent of another National or Rotorua Regional lockdown being necessary and affecting the ability to run any given race round…we will aim to postpone any affected race and run this at a later date honouring any deferred entries.

  2. If this happens 14 days or more from the event day then for those that do not wish to participate in the postponement of any given race then we would offer a full refund minus any applicable fees. 

  3. If this happens less than 14 days from the event day then we will offer a 50% refund of entry fee. Any refund considerations for full series entrants will be proportional to the period of disruption (ie if only race 3 is affected, then only 1/3 of the entry fee is subject to the above conditions)

Rotorua Mountain Bike Club and its partners accept no liability for damaged, lost or stolen goods. All personal property or hired equipment is the responsibility of the competitor.
