Kia ora Giant 2W Whanau,

As you will be aware, New Zealand shifted into the new Traffic Light Covid Protection Framework last week.

What does this means for us?

​

• At RED LIGHT conditions in the Rotorua (LAKES DHB) district, then our 2W races cannot be legally held. 

• At ORANGE, or GREEN LIGHT conditions we are good to go, as long as My Vaccine Passes are mandated for those 12yrs or older.

• Lakes DHB has cracked the 90% 1st dose threshold [health.govt.nz]. Yesterday the Government announced that on  30 December we move into Orange light Status, so long as we stay in Orange the Giant 2W series can go ahead!

What does this mean for you?

​

• All attendees (incl. competitors & crew) 12yr or older will have to provide their My Vaccine Pass to be verified when asked at any of our controlled event HQ sites.

• If you received your vaccinations overseas and do not yet have a My Vaccine Pass (including official exemption) click here for guidance. [health.govt.nz]

• If you do not intend to be fully vaccinated by race day, or are unable to provide officially approved proof of vaccination, then you will not be permitted on any of the 2W event sites and can be issued a refund as per the below...

Where to from here?

​

• If you are attending/entered and have a valid My Vaccine Pass, then you are good to go...just make sure you bring it with you at race rego time, and on the days of racing.

• If you are 12 or over, unvaccinated and intend to stay that way, then you have until 17 Jan 2022 to email race@mdanz.com to request your refund without withdrawal fees being applied.

• Following 17 January 2022, standard refund terms and conditions apply.

This is not an easy time for some and we are very conscious of this. For those who are unvaccinated, this may be extremely disappointing news. If and when the Government guidance changes to allow unvaccinated people to be able to participate, we will be stoked and motivated to find ways to bring you back into the fold when we legally can.
